ABOUT TRUE VINE FELLOWSHIP COGIC
Elder Bolden Jones came to Sedalia in May 1922. In the same year, he opened a small house of worship on Main Street. The congregation would then move to the basement of a small house until 1936 when it relocated to a church building on 318 W Morgan St. The church would come to be known as Jones Holy Temple. Elder B. Jones would serve as pastor for 50 years until his passing in 1971. Upon his passing, Elder James Brown would become pastor. Elder Brown pastored the church until his passing in 1974. At this time, Elder W.T. Morris became pastor while also pastoring at Bethel Temple Church in Knob Noster, MO.
Elder W.T. Morris served in the old church building for several years until God gave him the vision to build a new church. In1987, fundraising began for the new building. Spring of 1993, Elder Morris tore down the parsonage to begin construction. On June 11, 1993, Elder Morris began laying the foundation for the new church at its current location. In 2000, Jones Holy Temple was completely torn down. In 2001, the new building was officially completed. On June 24, 2001 after the completion of the new church, the name was changed to True-Vine Church of God in Christ. There have been many improvements and additions to the church building since its completion. In 2012, the church name was changed again to True Vine Fellowship Church of God in Christ.
In January 2017, after Superintendent W.T. Morris had been dealing with health issues he called Bishop John M. Johnson and requested that Elder Javion L. Jones come assist him with pastoring the church. At that time, Elder Jones was serving as the Assistant Pastor of Powerhouse Ministries in Marshall, MO. Elder Jones received a call from Bishop Johnson and a meeting took place to discuss the future of True Vine Fellowship. The meeting was held on a Wednesday and Elder Jones began attending True Vine on the following Sunday.
Elder Jones served Supt. W. T. Morris faithfully as his Assistant Pastor for almost 3 years, helping take the church to another level administratively and spiritually. After pastoring the church for 45 years, Supt. Morris decided to pass the mantle over to Elder Javion L. Jones. Supt. Morris contacted Bishop John M. Johnson, Prelate of Missouri Western Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, stating that he was ready to be emeritized as the Pastor.

On October 27, 2019, there was a tremendous jurisdictional service for Supt. W.T. Morris to emeritize him as the Pastor of True Vine Fellowship COGIC. On January 26, 2020, Elder Javion L. Jones was installed as the newly appointed Pastor of True Vine Fellowship COGIC and under his leadership the church continues to thrive as he brings fresh ideas and energy, not only to the church, but the community, as well.
